Slim, compact chassis design

Simple, clean "less is more" styling •The Bolt is stripped down and devoid of chrome parts and epitomizes the “Urban Performance Bobber” look. The compact chassis proudly showcases the 58 cubic inch (942cc), air-cooled, 60° V-twin sitting at the heart of the bike. •The Bolt uses modern technology to create a riding experience superior to other similarly sized machines. Even fuel injection and ignition timing maps have been carefully chosen specifically for this bike to deliver class-leading performance with strong low- and mid-range torque sure to bring a smile to every rider’s face. •The Bolt’s chassis design is entirely new. Components such as the 3.2 gallon fuel tank, belt drive, front and rear wheels, digital meter and steel fenders are new, creating a unique and fresh style. •The slim body and low seat design combine to give the motorcycle light maneuverability and a stable handling feeling. The upright riding posture helps the rider feel the wind, hear the sounds, and experience the pulse of the machine. •For riders who value personalization, the options for the Bolt are limited only by the owner’s imagination. As we say at Star motorcycles, “we build it, you make it your own.” And as the perfect canvas for customization, Bolt is the perfect example of that philosophy.     2014 Yamaha Bolt Features and Benefits Engine: •942cc, air-cooled, SOHC, 4-valves per cylinder, 60° V-twin engine produces outstanding low- and mid-range torque. Maximum torque is reached at only 3,000 rpm - for an exceptionally fun riding experience.

•One-piece cylinder heads feature 4-valves per cylinder to provide optimum volumetric or filling efficiency for maximum power output. The benefit of a 4-valve design is two smaller intake valves allow more air flow and a higher rpm limit than a single heavier larger valve. •Pent roof type combustion design with optimized squish area forces the fuel / air mixture toward the centre of the combustion chamber (and the centrally located long reach spark plug) for faster, more complete combustion and hence improved power and reduced emissions. •Cylinder heads feature brushed cooling fin highlights for a quality appearance. •The SOHC valve train features 31.5mm intake and 28mm exhaust valves with single valve springs which reduce friction and power losses. Specially designed "Y" shaped roller rocker arms activate the valves. The roller rocker system utilizes needle bearings that "roll" directly on the cam lobes allowing the lift of 2 valves at the same time without producing excessive camshaft wear and friction.

•Auto adjusting cam chain tensioners are used to reduce mechanical engine noise and maintenance

•Lightweight, "liner-less" aluminium cylinders feature ceramic composite plating for superior heat dissipation for excellent cooling, less friction, reduced weight and longer engine life. Cylinder cooling fins feature brushed aluminum highlights. •Single pin style crankshaft is used to enhance engine character and exhaust note.

• Lightweight forged aluminium pistons provide excellent durability while reducing reciprocating mass for fast throttle response.

• Wet sump oil delivery system features an easy access spin-on type oil filter and easy access drain plug. A traditional dipstick is used to check oil level.

•Classic side mounted, 2.3 litre air box houses an easy access, high-flow viscous paper-type filter. Its design highlights and compliments the V-twin engine appearance. The outer cover features brushed aluminum highlights. • Dual bore, 35mm throttle body fuel injection system with TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and ISC (Idle Speed Control). This is a "closed loop" system that utilizes a heated oxygen sensor. The oxygen sensor feeds back info to the ECU which in turn adjusts the fuel/air mixture for maximum power with minimum emissions. The Idle Speed Control (ISC) maintains a steady idle during warm-up as well as once the engine has reached operating temperature. •4-hole, 2-directional spray, Denso fuel injectors are used for excellent fuel atomization and more complete combustion chamber filling. There is one injector per cylinder. •Fuel injection benefits include; improved fuel economy, choke-less starting, reduced emissions, and smooth drive-ability. The Bolt has been tuned to provide a very "linear" throttle response for easy riding.

•Maintenance-free transistor controlled ignition (T.C.I.) provides a hot spark for sure starts and strong engine performance.

•Powerful 32 bit ECU controls the ignition and fuel injection process •Multi-plate "outer pull type'" wet clutch is used. Lever pull is light and easy thanks to a special rubber damper system.

•5-speed transmission features optimized gear ratios for excellent city and highway drivability. Transmission gears use "straight cut dogs" for smooth, positive shifting. 5th gear delivers outstanding cruising performance and reduced rpms at highway speed

•Adjustable gear shifter. •Clean, quiet belt drive system is extremely low maintenance and simplifies customization. The 21mm wide belt utilizes carbon fibre cords for excellent strength and reduced stretching. • Air Induction System (A.I.S.) reduces harmful CO and HC exhaust emissions.

•Stylish 2 into 1 exhaust system features a 3-way honeycomb-type catalyzer at the entry point of the muffler to reduce emissions. The rear header pipe "snakes" toward the front cylinder in order to provide the necessary tuned length, not to mention it is a key styling highlight too. The short design "dual stage type" muffler produces a low, throaty V-Twin exhaust note.     Chassis and Suspension: Tube type, single backbone, double cradle steel frame offers a natural riding position, roomy ergonomics and a low seat height. This frame utilizes a 4-point rigid engine mounting system to optimize the overall rigidity balance for superior handling. The engine is mounted low in the chassis to provide a low center of gravity for a light, easy handling feel. •Conventional tube-type, steel, short design swingarm compliments the frame and utilizes a dual shock suspension system. •The Bolt features a low (690mm / 27.2") seat height. A very narrow design through the seat fuel - tank junction makes it even easier to place both feet flat on the ground, an important benefit for less experienced or shorter riders.

•The compact (1570mm / 61.8") wheelbase provides light, agile handling, for a fun riding experience. •The Bolt is designed to be compact and slim, featuring clean, simple styling with the ability to easily personalize / customize the bike with a wide range of available accessories. The styling is "Star Original Bobber" with a modern twist. The design invokes a sense of dynamic forward motion and concentrated mass. The engine features "raw metal" styling highlights. • 41mm front fork features plastic chip guards to protect fork tubes and seals. Wheel travel is 120mm (4.7") for a smooth, comfortable ride.

•Lightweight, forged aluminum upper triple clamp and forged steel lower triple clamp. The "pitch" between the fork tubes is 190mm or 7.5", which is well proportioned to 100/90 series front tire. •Adjustable dual shock rear suspension. Rear wheel travel is 70mm (2.8"). The 5-positions of spring preload adjustment allows the rider to tailor spring preload to suit rider weight, load and road conditions. • Single, 298mm front disc brake features a floating, wave-style rotor squeezed by a twin piston caliper for strong, confidence-inspiring stopping power. The wave-style design rotor offers more surface area than a conventional round disc for excellent heat dissipation.

•298 mm rear disc brake is squeezed by single piston caliper mounted to the underside of the swingarm. This design not only helps to hide the caliper but also lowers the center of gravity for light handling. •Conventional low rise handlebar offers an upright riding position for excellent rider comfort. The bar can be changed to a different design for easy customization.

•12 litre teardrop shaped fuel tank compliments the slim, compact design of the Bolt. The piston-type fuel pump is externally located.

• Separate rider and passenger seats offer excellent comfort and style. The rider seat height is only 690mm or 27.2 inches off the ground. Both seats feature a dual texture design. The passenger seat can easily be removed if desired. •Short design front and rear fenders are made of steel for easy customization and demonstrate the quality of build.

•All new, lightweight 12-spoke cast aluminium wheels are fitted tubeless tires. Front wheel is an MT2.50x19 fitted with a 100/90-19 bias tire, while the rear is an MT3.50x16 fitted with a 150/80x16 bias tire.

•New, LCD digital meter assembly features a speedometer, odometer, dual tripmeters, fuel reserve tripmeter (counts kilometres since low fuel warning light activated) and a clock. New 2013 HONDA CB1100

2013 Honda CB1100 Mixing naked and classic Honda style with thoroughly modern and engaging performance, the exquisitely built four-cylinder CB1100 has a presence, and personality, all of its own. The Honda CB1100 mixes originality with a timeless sense of design, and substantial character. It represents a finely balanced blend of performance, with broad capacity, ability and adaptability. Unmistakably Honda, the CB1100's clean lines elegantly echo the past. The large round headlight, scalloped fuel tank (proudly detailed with the Honda Wing) and silver painted sidepanels add style and substance, while familiar analog dials, slim seat, side-swept 4-2-1 exhaust pipe and chromed front and rear mudguards provide the finishing touches, gently stirring memories of how motorcycles used to look and, as importantly, feel. Perhaps it's what you don't see that matters more with the CB1100; this is the motorcycle at its most elemental. A steel double cradle frame houses the engine, with 41mm conventional telescopic forks and twin rear shocks providing compliant and finely tuned suspension. The CB1100's riding position is upright and relaxed, a perfect platform from which to watch the world slide by. From the outset of the project, the CB1100's development engineers decided to use the word 'design' rather than 'styling' for their new bike. Utilising the characteristics of many materials - metal, plastic, leather and rubber - they created individual parts that are both beautiful and functional, and bought them together to stunning effect. Honda, as a company, looks to the future; yet always with one eye on, and great respect, for the past. To that end, the Honda CB1100 mixes originality with a timeless sense of design, and substantial character. It represents a finely balanced blend of performance, with broad capacity, ability and adaptability. But it also has something else, almost an intangible - a small part of the soul of a true original: the Honda CB750 Four. The CB750 Four has cast a long and influential shadow over motorcycling since its debut in 1969. Soichiro Honda, ever the engineer, leading an engineering company, wanted to prove that there was more to the two-wheeled formula than small and medium capacity twin-cylinder motorcycles, and did just that with the ground-breaking 749cc, 67bhp air-cooled, SOHC four-cylinder four-stroke power unit. A competent chassis - with another first, a single disc brake up front - provided handling and stopping power to match the engine, and the CB750 Four was an instant success. The mass-production superbike had been born, the blueprint drawn for the future. Motorcycling has changed a great deal over the last 5 decades since the very first CB - the Benly CB92 - was introduced. Motorcyclists themselves have changed too: while many still aspire to the ultimate performance available, just as many today perhaps have other reasons to own a motorcycle. Some are looking back, at the bike they wanted when they were young but simply couldn't afford. Others want something that performs like a new machine, but with a certain, classic look that lends retro-heritage to a contemporary lifestyle. And some riders just want an exquisitely engineered motorcycle that blends real-world usability with an honest sense of history. The common factor is fun.

Honda believes motorcycles are very personal things, much more than mere transport. And none more so than the CB1100, as the following insight from the man that created it, shows.   Bike of the New Century. Back in 1969, Honda’s legendary CB750K0 changed the world of motorcycling forever. Powerful, technologically advanced, flawlessly built, it instantly redefined what a motorcycle could be. And you can say the same about the new CB1100. Same engine architecture, except now it displaces a full 1140cc and offers fuel injection, and much more. Same, timeless style, but updated with contemporary accents. It’s a bike a whole new generation of riders is going to appreciate.

Transverse-Four Engine

Smooth, powerful, compact, and free-revving, Honda’s inline fours set the standard in the class. The new CB1100’s engine displaces 1140cc and features air cooling for a timeless look—why hide it under a fairing?

Steel Chassis

There’s something about a good, twin-loop full-cradle steel chassis in basic black that not only looks great, but offers plenty of modern chassis geometry too. You’ll find the new CB1100 handles as well as it looks.

Brake Time

The CB1100 features front and rear disc brakes, and the thoroughly modern option of Honda’s Combined Anti-lock Brake System. That makes for powerful, sure stops. Because you never know what the open road is going to throw at you.         Mr Mitsuyoshi Kohama, Chief Designer, CB1100 "It just had to be an air-cooled engine…"
Instant acceleration has its appeal, as does modern styling that conveys the swiftness of the bike. But there's a lot more to the path of motorcycle evolution. I found myself thinking along these lines for the first time when I returned to Japan, after several years in Europe. It was also at this time that I grabbed a pencil and quickly started sketching.

Tyres. Engine. Frame. Tank. Seat. I thought about how to craft all the necessary elements beautifully and combine them in a perfect whole. I wanted to create a beautiful motorcycle with artisan-level handiwork that's also approachable and easy to ride.

"Why are you giving that new engine air-cooling when you know its performance won't be as good? You had better have a pretty convincing explanation!"

That's the kind of thing people said when we began the development process. And I could understand that thinking. Going with an air-cooled engine was bound to seem 'retro' to people at Honda, which had long favored liquid-cooled systems in the pursuit of maximum performance.

When asked to explain my choice, I could only say: "My only reason is that a lot of customers like air-cooled engines." I like the metallic sound the engine makes as it cools… A motorcycle's engine should have oil in it, not water… Just looking at the cooling fins inspires me… There is something about an air-cooled engine - a feeling you simply can't get from the liquid-cooled engine in a high-performance bike. To me, a bike rider and a bike fan, a future without air-cooled engines just didn't seem right. And I was certain I wasn't the only one who felt this way! Based on my sketch, this 'bike that defies logic and just demands to be ridden' became a reality. We displayed the CB Four concept model at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1999, and I was extremely thankful for the enthusiastic response it received there. In 2007, aiming to create a bike that fulfilled fans' vision even more fully, we displayed a new concept model at the Tokyo Motor Show, the CB1100F. Eventually, this concept model became the production model known as the CB1100.               2013 Honda CB1100 Key Features The CB1100: an exquisitely engineered mix of classic and naked styling that offers thoroughly modern and engaging performance with a timeless design. The CB1100 is powered by an air-cooled, in-line four cylinder engine and now makes its long-awaited European debut after quickly gaining a loyal fan base in both Japan and Australia. Engine Centrepiece of the CB1100 is its handsome DOHC engine. Air (via 2mm fins) and oil-cooled (via a 335mm 9-tier, front-mounted oil cooler), the finning is the finest found on any bike within the Honda range, and new production methods had to be found for its manufacture. It revs to 8,500rpm and features a compression ratio of 9.5:1. Maximum power output is 66Kw, with a peak torque figure of 93Nm @ 5,000rpm. Importantly, however outright horsepower figures on Dynograph paper was not the goal - if the engine proved fun to use, then it would be deemed a success. Smooth, instantly accessible power and torque is what the CB1100's motor's all about, and plenty of it, anywhere in the rev range. No frantic thrashing to the redline; just dial in the throttle, and go. Four-stroke, four-cylinder motive thrust at its creamy, effortless best. Extremely efficient PGM-FI fuel injection, utilising one 36mm throttle body, gives excellent fuel consumption of 25.1km/l (70.9mpg) @ WMTC. Bore and stroke is set at 73.5mm x 67.2mm. Drive for the twin camshafts is via central chain, and the valve included angle is 26.5° inlet and exhaust. Inlet valve diameter is 27mm, with a 2.5mm stem; exhaust 24mm with 2.5mm stem. A single, secondary balancer shaft ensures smooth running and drive is transmitted via wet clutch and five-speed gearbox. Final drive is by 530 chain.
Chassis It's sporty, without being a sportsbike. It can tour, without being a touring bike. The CB1100's capacities, thanks to its strong engine and well-balanced chassis, are broad and multi-faceted; it's a bike to be ridden and enjoyed in a variety of situations. The CB1100's classic, tubular steel double cradle frame grips the engine with four rigid and two rubber mounts; the swingarm is constructed from box-section steel. 41mm conventional telescopic forks are spring preload adjustable, as are the pair of Showa rear shocks. Painted silver, cast aluminium 18-inch five-spoke wheels mount 110/80-18 and 140/70-18 tyres and the standard Combined ABS brakes feature twin, 296mm floating discs up front, with four-piston Nissin calipers, and 256mm disc and single-piston caliper at the rear.

Overall dimensions are 2195mm (length) x 835mm (width) x 1130mm (height). Wheelbase is 1490mm, ground clearance 125mm and the seat height is reasonably low at 795mm, making the CB1100 very manageable. Rake and trail is set at 27°/114mm. Kerb weight is 248kg; Fuel capacity is 14.6L with a 3.5L reserve. The circular analog speedo and rev counter evoke memories of classic Hondas of old, and are easy to read. Equipment also includes a fuel gauge, clock, and a centrestand, passenger grabrail are fitted as standard equipment.   The CB1100 will be available in three different colours: Pearl Milky White/Eternal Silver sidepanels
Glory Red/Eternal Silver sidepanels
Graphite Black/Graphite Black sidepanels.     Accessories A comprehensive range of accessories are available including: Heated grips
Rear rack
Colour coded top box with back pad
Front fork adjuster bolt (gold or red)
Chrome Meter cover
Meter panel (gold or red)
Headlight case
A chrome shroud for the distinctive single headlight reflecting the quality and individuality of a classic style re-imagined.

2013 Honda CB1100 Features and Benefits Classic Instrumentation Chrome-rimmed speedometer and tachometer both analog and easy-to-read. What could be better than that? The new CB1100 also offers a digital clock, odometer and illuminated engine diagnostic indicators. 41mm Front Fork A traditional design, the 41mm fork features spring preload adjustability and is plenty strong for sporty rides and, along with the wide bar, gives the CB1100 a light feel around town. Disc Brakes Nothing retro here: The CB1100's huge twin front discs and single rear disc are drilled for lighter weight and less heat retention, and offer smooth, predictable, powerful stopping capability. Four-Into-One Exhaust The CB1100's four-into-one pipe gives this bike a crisp sound, and the chrome finish is a great highlight, too. Polished Aluminum Engine Covers The polished aluminum accents on the CB1100 are more expensive, but are an example of the quality, design, and detail that make the CB1100 a uniquely premium motorcycle. 1142cc Air-Cooled Engine With an engine this size, you get power everywhere—enough to go on a spirited street ride, an hour-long cruise, or carry a passenger with ease. PGM-FI Fuel Injection Improved cold-weather startups, no-drama high-altitude riding and no choke are just three benefits of fuel injection. Comfortable Riding Position One of the reasons so many riders like Honda's classic fours was because they were comfortable. Same for the new CB1100. Ride it for ten minutes or two hours and you'll see that it's one of the easiest-to-live-with machines in any class. Aluminum Swingarm Combined with the CB1100's steel-tube full-cradle twin-loop frame, the stout aluminum swingarm is part of the CB1100's excellent handling package. Twin-Shock Rear Suspension Easy to adjust and equipped. Featuring preload adjustability, the CB1100's rear suspension proves that the traditional design, done right, can still provide excellent handling characteristics. Cast Wheels Light and easy to keep clean, the CB1100 wheels contribute to the bike's performance and handling, while acknowledging the timeless look of Honda's classic machines. Available Combined Anti-Lock Braking (C-ABS)   Light, Narrow, Low.

Because it’s a single-cylinder machine, the CB1100 is narrow, and with its low 30.5-inch seat height and light 359-pound curb weight, putting your feet down in parking lots or at stoplights can be a lot easier.

The Power of One.

The CB1100 uses a single-cylinder engine with fuel injection, double-overhead cams and a counterbalancer. Sure that’s tech talk, but the architecture offers some very real advantages. Maybe the most important is power delivery: a single offers the kind of torque and midrange power that’s well suited for all levels of riders.

Stop With Confidence. Analog/Digital Instrumentation - The CB1100's digital gauges with analog tachometer provides vital riding information in a styled, hi-tech instrumentation package. Layered Style Fairing - Take a close look at the CB1100's unique bodywork, which is designed for style and functionality. It routes airflow for both engine cooling and rider comfort, while creating a unique sportbike style. Fuel Injection - Fuel injection means the new CB1100 starts right up, even in cold weather. Compared to a carbureted bike, it also helps reduce emissions and enhance performance and fuel economy. Single-Cylinder Engine - A single is the perfect choice for a bike like the CB1100. It's light, simple, returns excellent fuel economy, and features a broad powerband with plenty of low-revving torque–just what you want in a first motorcycle. Counterbalance Shaft - Because it features a counterbalancer, the CB1100 engine is a smooth runner. You get the narrow overall width and power advantages of a single along with the smoothness of a multi-cylinder bike. Pro-Link® Rear Suspension - The CB1100 uses a single-shock pre-load adjustable rear suspension that not only gives you a smooth ride, but helps enhance handling as well, just as on some of our larger sport models. Low Seat Height - A low 30.5" seat height does more than help make sure the CB1100 fits a wide range of riders. It makes it easier to put your feet down at stoplights and in parking lots–a big confidence builder. Passenger Ready - A separate passenger seat, integrated grab rail, and standard passenger footpegs mean you can take a friend along when you go riding–another example of the CB1100's versatility. Underseat Storage - Removing the rear passenger seat provides a lockable area to throw a map, gloves, or a spare set of sunglasses. Disc Brakes - The new CB1100 features front and rear hydraulic discs for excellent stopping power and brake feel. The single front disc helps keep things simple and lowers unsprung weight, too.   Additional Features - Transferable one-year limited warranty; extended coverage available with a Honda Protection Plan.   Honda Genuine Accessories - Passenger Seat Cowl (Black), Carbon Fiber Tank Pad, Carbon Fiber Fuel Lid Cover, Outdoor Cover   Honda Assurance Honda Genuine Accessories are developed alongside the model. Less Pain at the Pump.

Sure, the CRF250L is a ton of fun. But here’s something that makes it even better: Awesome fuel economy. Maneuverable, narrow, and thrifty. Which means fill-ups are fewer, further between, and a lot less costly.    New dual-purpose, multi-role motorcycle: sharp on the street, fun on the dirt

The essence of what makes a true dual-purpose motorcycle has long been in Honda's DNA. In the late 1970s the XL250S was launched, a bike providing genuine on-road usability with excellent off-road performance. The entire XL range that followed became legendary, and proved that bolting an economical and easy-to-use single-cylinder four-stroke engine into a competent chassis, created a bike that was useful, versatile and, as riders the world over found, fun. Exhaustive discussions within Honda R&D took place about the creation of a brand new dual-purpose machine. The company's long history - in off-road competition and dual-purpose machinery - was a useful touchstone when development of the bike first began, and inspired the team that worked on it from the outset. Looking to the needs of customers came first. While some riders insist upon competition-level off-road performance, many others value ease of use, practicality and convenience. For weekday, urban use they wanted a tough, practical bike with cutting-edge off-road style. But, come the weekend, it needed to provide a ticket to ride, wherever they wanted to go, on or off-road. Honda's new dual-purpose platform was always viewed by its development engineers with global perspective, as a bike for the whole world. It not only needed a powerful and frugal engine, its chassis also had to have a broad and capable range. The bike was to be affordable, offering high quality and outstanding value for money, with low overall running costs a priority. Perhaps most important, and a driving force for the engineers working exhaustively to deliver such a multi-faceted motorcycle, was to produce something that could connect many people to Honda, and help them realise their dreams in a way that only a motorcycle can. The CRF250L is that motorcycle. Model Overview The CRF250L is a dual-purpose motorcycle. Its dimensions, ergonomics, low weight, long-travel 43mm Showa USD forks and Pro-link rear suspension make it equally at home on city streets or country trails. The single-cylinder engine provides useful power and torque across a wide rev range, with excellent fuel economy. The crisp styling takes cues from the legendary CRF competition range, and, as expected from Honda, both build quality and engineering standard is high. The key phrase used throughout CRF250L development was: "…to make 'On' (daily life) more convenient and 'Off' (weekends) more enjoyable!"

The CRF250L’s lightweight and compact liquid-cooled single-cylinder 249cc DOHC engine produces smooth and consistent torque at low rpm, aiding rear wheel traction and rider feel. Equally, the short stroke (76x55mm) engine’s high rpm performance is excellent; throughout its rev range and provides well-balanced and very usable power delivery. To create a tractable engine across such a broad rev range, much research and development effort went into the intake and exhaust system. The ideal internal dimensions were found for the throttle body and exhaust pipe, both in terms of diameter and length. A new design of viscous air filter and large 5.7L air box has been employed to maximize airflow. The CRF250L engine team came up with a new and extremely compact roller/rocker arm design for the low-friction valve train. This in turn allowed the use of a smaller cylinder head. An iridium spark plug, along with precise metering of fuel from the PGM-FI injection system, further enhances combustion efficiency and improves environmental credentials. Reducing internal frictional losses, the CRF250L engine uses an offset cylinder while the piston itself incorporates a special surface material, plus a molybdenum coating. The oil pump features an internal relief structure that prevents aeration of relieved oil. A first for Honda in a single-cylinder off-road engine is the crank journal. It employs a half-split, press-fit metal bearing while the crank bearing uses a cast-iron bush. The net result of this new design reduces weight and makes for a smoother engine; it strengthens the rigidity of the case housing and minimizes the internal diameter change due to thermal expansion. A primary balance shaft further reduces vibration. The new six-speed gearbox and clutch were designed in conjunction and strengthened to cope with the extra stress riding off-road can produce. The cooling system uses a 10.7 kW heat-release radiator, sited on the left of the bike, protected with a polypropylene grill baffled to improve airflow. A thin guide-ring cooling fan is used to maintain even temperatures at low speeds, either in congested traffic or tricky off-road situations. To deal with Euro III emissions regulations an O2 Lambda sensor works in conjunction with a secondary air injection system. The catalyzer is sited inside the tapered exhaust muffler.

Chassis
With the versatility demanded of the CRF250L from the outset, a brand new frame evolved to house the new engine. Constructed from steel, the twin oval-section main spars and semi-double cradle provide the strength needed for off-road riding. The slim, round-section steel bolt-on sub-frame supports two adults plus a 5kg load. Guards are situated above the rider’s foot pegs to protect the frame from boot scuffs. A wheelbase of 1,445mm is matched to a 27.6°’ rake with 113mm trail, giving excellent stability and agility. The 43mm Showa inverted fork is incredibly rigid, with performance perfectly honed throughout its 250mm stroke for use over a wide range of terrain and speeds. Pro-Link rear suspension features a 240mm axle stroke; the Showa shock absorber is a single tube design with 40mm diameter cylinder. The tapered aluminium swingarm incorporates a monoblock casting; a method that allows for production of intricate shapes. It provides the correct rigidity balance while ensuring strength, and reducing un-sprung mass. Extruded aluminium is used for the chain adjustment collar. The front brake uses a single 256mm disc gripped by a two-piston caliper, the rear, a 220mm disc with single-piston caliper. Braking has been tuned to offer excellent feel with a high level of controllability. The lightweight discs feature a wave design – taken directly from the CRF250R/CRF450R – with exceptional self-cleaning abilities in adverse conditions. Lightweight aluminium rims further reduce un-sprung mass. The directly attached spoke pattern layout is taken from the CRF250R/CRF450R and benefits from extreme rigidity. Block pattern enduro-style tyres (front: 3.00-21 51P, rear: 120/80-18 62P) provide traction in a wide range of riding situations. The 21 inch front wheel and 18 inch rear increase stability on rough terrain and allow the fitment of more off-road specific tyres if required.

Equipment/Styling
The CRF250L’s digital instrument cluster contains a fuel meter, with built-in clock and twin trip functions. The headlight visor provides visual CRF-inspired styling, protects the instruments and houses an H4 60W/55 bulb. Overall styling of the CRF250L owes much to the elements of the competition CRF-R range, incorporating principles of mass centralization and triangular proportion. Ergonomic considerations were also a key factor, as the bike is required to perform, handle well, and be comfortable in a wide variety of conditions. The braced handlebar provides an upright and relaxed riding position, with plenty of leverage for bike control, and a 45° turning angle either side give a tight turning circle which is useful for dealing with urban traffic or tight trails. The slim fuel tank holds 7.7L, and combined with the comfortable, flat seat offers maximum control and choice of riding position. A compact, lockable toolbox is sited at the base of the rear fender.

New 2013 HONDA ROADSMITH GL1800 w/ Roadsmith Trike
If you are looking for a new Goldwing trike but don't want, or don't need all the extras, you might want to check this one out. Priced thousands less than a loaded up model.
Independent Rear Suspensiontrike irs suspension
The smooth ride of the Roadsmith HT1800 is a result of our innovative suspension system that offers a ride like no other trike. Roadsmith was the first to offer Independent Suspension for trike conversions over 16 years ago. The cynics said it would never work. They’re eating those words today. Talk to anyone who has actually ridden an Independent-rear-suspension trike and a solid-axle system trike for a period of time and ask them which one rode better. You can’t deny independent-rear-suspension is the way manufacturers of cars, SUV’s and ATV’s are going. Trikes are no different. These trikes are built with a purpose - “Touring in comfort”.   The multi-point mount of the chassis to the bike frame actually strengthens the bike's frame as well as dissipates the added stress of a trike. We attach at existing mounting points on the frame. For example, on the HT1800 we use the crash bar mounts and the shock mount. A feature of the trailing arm type independent suspension is the fact that there are very few moving parts. There are literally only two pivot points on each trailing arm. This eliminates any adjustments or maintenance requirements. There are more complicated ways to design a suspension, but why?
True Track Stabilizer Barrear view suspension
The stabilizer bar, also known as a sway bar, is a flexible link between the two trailing arms. The bar uses the torsion effect to always try to keep the trike righted or sitting square to the ground. The beauty of the stabilizer bar is the fact that when one wheel hits a bump, the bar can flex quickly to absorb the movement, then return. This is the same technology used in almost every vehicle today. Just think if you had “no lean” suspension. That means your trike is always perfectly square to the ground. In effect, if you go over a 2” bump with your right wheel, the trike rocks up 2”. With Independent Suspension, just that wheel goes up. The antiquated solid axle system is only made today because it’s cheaper and easier. Technology has improved a lot in the short history of trike conversions but some are too stuck in their ways. Others are jumping on board with IRS now, but none can copy our history, longevity and reliability.
Longer Wheelbase
We increase the wheelbase 8". This puts the rear wheels back behind the passengers’ seat area rather than sitting right on top of the wheels. Any vehicle that has a longer wheelbase will have a smoother ride, it’s just common sense. As an added benefit, the differential being farther back reduces the driveshaft angle.
Shaft Driven Differentialford differential
Our differential is constructed from standard automotive ring and pinion gear sets. The original application of our differential was a Ford car. We cut down this brand new cast iron housing and make an Independent Suspension differential out of it. The components inside it are all brand new including the 2.93:1 ratio ring and pinion. We keep the speedometer correct with that ratio and tire diameter.
Disc Brakesbrake detail
Large disc brakes more than handle the stopping of this trike. Remember trikes stop faster and easier than bikes. With more tire contact area and much better stability, braking a trike is not the white knuckled balancing act that a bike can be. The wheel bearings, calipers and rotors are all right from a high production automobile application known as the VW Beetle. Like all of our constructed drive train, everyday parts are off the shelf for your convenience.
Heavy Duty Driveshaftdriveshaft
We manufacture a completely new driveshaft built from full size sealed automotive u-joints and a 2” tube. These are the same components used in full sized cars and trucks. We figure if that design can hold up in those heavy vehicles it should have no problems with a trike application. We’ve proven ourselves right.
Heavy Duty CV Jointsdrive axle
The axles are custom made for our conversion kits, but the constant velocity (CV) joints are standard automotive applications such as VW and Porsche. We use automotive type parts for all of our drive train because it’s designed for a much heavier load, meaning these parts will probably last forever in this light duty application. Again, using off the shelf parts for your convenience.
Alloy Wheels
The Alloy wheels that come with our conversion kits are clear-coated aluminum rims that have a similar look and finish to the bikes front rim. They are a 16x7”, 5x4 1/2 bolt pattern with a positive 35mm offset size that fits many automotive applications. We offer a Chrome plated option also.
Storage CompartmentHT1800 trunk
The large storage compartment comes completely carpeted to both protect and store your riding gear. The trunk (6 cubic feet) has about twice the capacity of the stock saddlebags. This gives you a larger space to fit larger objects like coolers, helmets, etc into. If you choose not to get the auxiliary fuel tank, an extra 6” high x 12” wide x 12” deep storage space can be added. The large trunk door opening also allows for easier packing or loading. The release for the right saddlebag under the tour pack is now used to release the latch for the trunk. We also use the "open saddlebag" indicator to show on the dash if the trunk isn't closed completely. You won't see any fancy hinges to close into our storage area or bind up someday. We incorporate a simple hinge and soft straps to handle the job. This convenient trunk will fit all your gear securely away from the elements.
Factory Styled Body
The slick body design incorporates the look and feel of the original motorcycle. We feel the trike conversion body should melt seamlessly into the original body parts. The body is constructed of heavy-duty fiberglass. It is then painted with urethane paint, flat sanded, and buffed to a mirror finish to ensure a perfect paint match both in color and finish. The mounting system for the body ensures a rock solid attachment and no exposed mounting hardware. Notice the added foot room for the passenger, another feature of a longer wheelbase.
Trailer Hitch
With any touring machine a trailer hitch is a familiar sight. When riding a trike, a trailer is not a danger like it is on a bike. The back of a trike will never feel like there’s a trailer behind it. We include a 1 1/4” receiver for a trailer hitch neatly tucked under the body. It is incorporated into the rear body support and is welded directly into the strongest part of our frame. This is not an option or add-on, it’s built right in. It is another one of the innovative ideas built right into the design of our trike kit.
Warranty
The Trike Shop has an unparalleled history of customer service and satisfaction and we put it in writing, with the best warranty in the market. Your trike comes with a full 3 year or 1,000,000 mile warranty on the entire trike kit. We can offer this because we know with over 16 years of producing this type of conversion kit, we do it right the first time.

New 2013 KTM 1190 RC8
ON SALE  $1600.00 OFF   The ultimate power tool from KTM. KTM designers pulled out all the stops in the art of engine building when it came to the 1190 RC8 R 2013. The rider has one of the most powerful V2 engines of our times and one of the best chassis in the world at his or her disposal — totally street-legal. With the precision to cut out the others when entering a curve. With the power and traction to pull away from them coming out of a curve. With the feedback and ergonomics to enjoy the 1190 RC8 R 2013 to the fullest.
FRAME The 2013 KTM RC8 R's thin-walled, 7.3 kg light tubular lattice frame of high-strength chrome-molybdenum steel sets standards in dimensional stability and lightweight construction. Its optimal stiffness distribution results in fantastic precision and unparalleled stability. CENTRALISATION OF MASSES The RC8 R not only impresses with low weight and perfect chassis geometry; the centralisation of masses - for example, by positioning the silencer under the engine - also contributes to its easy handling and razor-sharp precision.
SWINGARM The intricately made light alloy swingarm makes a significant contribution to the outstanding traction of the KTM RC8 R. The position of the swingarm can be adjusted by means of an eccentric on the lever linkage. In this way, compression can be minimised and squatting prevented when accelerating out of corners. LINKAGE The progressiveness of the linkage provides the shock absorber with refined responsiveness and still with sufficient reserves at peak loads. The position of the swingarm can be adjusted to the rider's riding style and weight on the easily accessible eccentric adjuster on the linkage, and squatting on acceleration prevented.
SHOCK ABSORBER The sophisticated internal mechanism of the WP shock absorber on the 2013 RC8 R completely isolates the rebound damping from the compression stage, so that they can each be adjusted independently of one another. The compression damping can also be set for high speed and low speed. The suspension set-up range extends comfortably to racing conditions.
TELESCOPIC FORK The high-quality upside-down fork from WP Suspension can be adjusted separately for preload as well as for compression and rebound damping of the suspension. Their adjustment ranges extend from country road comfort to tough racing conditions. In addition, a WP steering damper keeps the forks on track, even under extreme conditions.
WHEELS AND TYRES The lightweight, Marchesini, aluminium die-cast wheels on the KTM RC8 R are fitted with Continental Sport Attack II tyres. These top-quality tyres provide outstanding ride characteristics and endless grip, whether on a wet country road or a scorching hot racetrack. With a decent service life, they support the unique qualities of the KTM chassis at all times.
SETTING OPTIONS The 2013 RC8 R not only offers extraordinarily relaxed ergonomics for all its supreme sportiness, but also more ergonomic setting options than any other series production superbike. Footrests: two heights, each with two positional variants. Foot levers: variable lever operating angle and lever length. Seat: two heights. Hand levers: variable. Handlebar: two heights and two angles.
ENGINE With its 129 kW (173 hp) of power, the V2 on the KTM RC8 R can be considered as the measure of all things for ultra-sporty twins, with maximum performance, predictable characteristics and high reliability. The KTM engine impresses with an extremely broad rev range and spontaneous throttle response, while supplying supreme ride quality. ANTI-HOPPING CLUTCH Saves power, helps in slides: The new anti-hopping clutch not only opens when the engine back-torque becomes too high, it also closes with the force of the clutch springs when you open up the throttle. The former prevents annoying rear wheel chatter when braking sharply or decelerating – and gives the wheel just that bit of braking for a controlled rear wheel slide. The latter allows the clutch to be pulled and controlled with the little finger – which saves energy when riding.
CYLINDER HEAD The main reasons for the outstanding performance of the RC8 R 2013 V-twin with 75° cylinder angle are the state-of-the-art cylinder heads with twin plug ignition, flow-optimised ducts and cam follower drive for the valves (intake: titanium; exhaust: steel). For tuners: Valve timing is adjustable via the camshaft gears.
TWIN PLUG IGNITION The twin plug ignition system on the latest RC8 R fires the two differently sized spark plugs in each cylinder head independently of each other in such a way that more efficient combustion and a smoother, optimally controlled combustion sequence are achieved at all times. The result: even more and even better controlled power, lower fuel consumption, and less emissions.
INJECTION / ENGINE MANAGEMENT The electronic Keihin engine management with twin throttle valves regulates the modern electronic fuel injection system on the 2013 KTM RC8 R, focussing on maximum power with predictable power development and spontaneous responsiveness with precisely controllable throttle response.
PISTONS The forged piston structure on the RC8 R, borrowed from Formula 1, results in a high loading capacity, despite the extremely short and lightweight design. This minimises the reciprocating weight and optimises the responsiveness and free-revving nature of the engine.
CRANKSHAFT The smooth shape of the crank webs on the latest KTM RC8 R results in low-loss running of the crank drive; the modified weight distribution of the crankshaft and a newly dimensioned alternator rotor improve the smooth running of the engine. Together they optimise the load change behaviour of the engine.

The Star® Accessories Catalog is packed full of high-quality parts that invite Star owners to fully express their individuality.     2013 Yamaha Stryker Features and Benefits Engine: •1304cc (80 cubic inch), liquid-cooled, short stroke, SOHC, 4-valve per cylinder, fuel injected, 60° V-twin powerplant pumps out impressive power and torque for excellent cruising performance.

•Uneven firing interval, bore & stroke dimensions and special ignition & injection mapping all contribute to excellent torque output and that classic V-twin pulse feeling •Liquid-cooling not only allows for higher state of tune because it maintains more stable operating temperatures, but also reduces mechanical noise for a quieter engine.

•In an effort to maintain the classic air-cooled appearance of the engine, cooling fins have been added as a styling highlight. •The short stroke engine design reduces the "height" of the engine, while the 60 degree "V" makes the engine more compact thereby centralizing mass and lowering the centre of gravity for lighter, more responsive handling. •One-piece cylinder heads feature 4-valves per cylinder to provide optimum breathing efficiency for maximum power output. •Stylish chromed cylinder head covers. •The SOHC valve train features 36mm intake and 32mm exhaust valves with special single coil springs for great power and torque. Valve angles are set at 20 degrees from centre. •Specially designed roller rockers activate the valves. The roller rocker system allows a greater amount of valve lift without causing excessive camshaft wear and friction. The slipper portion of the rocker arm features a needle bearing which reduces wear and slide resistance (friction). The camshafts have been specially designed for use with roller rockers.

•Pent roof combustion chamber design and optimized squish area forces the fuel / air mixture toward the centre of the combustion chamber for more complete combustion and hence improved power and cleaner emissions. •The radiator is mounted between the front frame downtubes to minimize its appearance especially when viewing the machine from the side. Even the rad hoses have been discreetly placed for a cleaner appearance. An electric fan aids in cooling during hot weather or in stop and go traffic. •Automatic hydraulic cam chain tensioners reduce mechanical noise and simplify maintenance too. •Ceramic composite-plated cylinders provide uniform heat dissipation while also reducing friction and weight. The cylinders have a tapered "V" appearance to highlight the V-twin design. Cylinder bore is 100mm. •High performance forged pistons offer great durability and reduced weight for faster engine response and less mechanical vibration. •Crankshaft features a single crank pin design. This specially designed crank and uneven firing order helps to enhance the pulse feeling and that unique V-twin engine character.

•Single axis, left and right dual engine counter balancers reduce vibration to a minimum while maximizing rider comfort. •Crankcase design features internal oil and coolant lines for a clean, air-cooled engine appearance. There are special piston coolers that spray oil at the under side of the pistons. •Easy access, spin on type oil filter is located under the engine. There is no need to remove any parts to access the oil filter. •Classic side mounted air box houses a high-flow viscous paper-type filter and adds that special styling touch too.

•Mikuni dual bore, 40mm throttle body fuel injection system with TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and ISC (Idle Speed Control). This is a "closed loop" system that utilizes an oxygen sensor in the exhaust. The sensor "sniffs" the spent exhaust gases and feeds back info to the ECU which in turn adjusts the fuel/air mixture for maximum power with minimum emissions. The oxygen sensor is located before the mufflers, so the use of slip-on mufflers will not affect this system. Each injector features 12 holes and a dual spray pattern for better fuel atomization and more complete combustion chamber filling. There is one injector per cylinder. Fuel injection benefits include improved fuel economy; choke less operation, reduced emissions, and great throttle response.

•High pressure fuel pump is located in a separate sub tank below the seat.

Chassis and Suspension: •Double cradle steel frame with "open neck space" provides an aggressive chopper image. This frame utilizes a rigid engine mounting system to optimize the overall rigidity balance of the chassis for superior handling. The rake is 34 degrees with a yoke offset of 6 degrees. The frame not only provides excellent handling and roomy ergonomics but also compliments the beautiful flowing lines of the entire machine. Important Note: Raked out front fork with lots of trail generally provides good straight line stability but often results in heavy steering at low speeds. The engineers at Yamaha will not sacrifice handling for styling, so they have developed a 6 degree yoke offset angle combined with a 34 degree steering head for a total fork angle of 40 degrees. The "Stryker" provides light "athletic handling and easy steering" not normally associated with a custom styled bike. This bike was designed to be ridden ! Key numbers: 6 degree yoke offset angle, 34 degree caster angle, 109mm of trail.

•Steel swingarm compliments the frame and the overall chassis rigidity balance •Long 1,750mm (68.9") wheelbase creates a long, low profile and solid, stable handling. This chassis offers a 45% & 55% front to rear weight distribution and is approximately 60mm longer than the standard V-Star 1300. •The long low design means spacious ergonomics with lots of leg room, which maximizes rider and passenger comfort. •Raked out 41mm front fork offers excellent ride comfort and compliance. Chip protectors help to prevent stone chips in the tubes. Front wheel travel is 135mm (5.3").

•Monocross style, spring preload-adjustable, single-shock, link rear suspension centralizes mass for agile handling. The linkage system provides a rising rate effect that provides excellent compliance on both small and large bumps. There are 9 positions of spring preload adjustability to suit rider preference. •Rear shock is vertically mounted behind the engine and is tucked out of sight for that classic, clean, hard tail look. Rear wheel travel is 100mm (3.9").

•Single, large 320mm, floating front disc is squeezed by a compact twin piston front caliper. •310mm rear disc brake is squeezed by single piston caliper mounted to the underside of the swingarm. This design not only helps to hide the caliper but also lowers the centre of gravity for excellent handling. •Lightweight 5-spoke cast aluminum wheels are fitted with tubeless tires. These stylish wheels are both easy to clean and maintenance-free. The front wheel is a MT3.50 x 21 inch while the rear is a wide MT7.50x18. The narrow front tire (120/70 x 21) and wide rear tire (240/40R18) enhance the chopper styling image. •1 inch diameter handlebars are mounted directly to the upper handlebar crown without the use of traditional handlebar holders. This design accentuates the chopper profile while also providing an aggressive riding position. •Deep-bend steel front and rear fenders enhance the chopper styling. Steel material allows for easy customization and painting if desired.

•15 litre teardrop shaped fuel tank with chromed filler cap. The long, slim tank design accentuates the bike's muscular styling lines. •One piece rider and passenger seat offers a low 670mm (26.4") seat height and great styling too. Super Ténéré has both an Antilock Braking System (ABS) and Unified Braking System (UBS). With UBS, squeezing the front brake alone also provides some rear-wheel braking; pressing the rear brake first overrides UBS for traditional separate front and rear braking action.

Whether riding across town or crossing a continent, rider comfort and convenience are important. Super Ténéré delivers, with an adjustable seat height and windshield, tunable front and rear suspension, low-maintenance shaft drive, and more.

Special spoked wheels carry tubeless tires.

Multi-function carrier system on back is ready for optional luggage and touring accessories.     2013 Yamaha Super Tenere Features and Benefits Engine: •Compact, lightweight, 1199cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve, inline twin pumps out over 80 foot pounds of torque, one of the key ingredients that makes adventure touring so exciting.

•Engine is slanted 26 degrees forward, allowing for the use of a very efficient downdraft intake system and at the same time lowering the centre of gravity for light, easy handling

• 4-valve cylinder head design. The DOHC valve train features 37mm intake and 31mm exhaust valves. Valve angles are 12.5 degrees for the intakes and 14 degrees from centre for the exhaust, creating a compact combustion chamber. The valves feature an Isonite coating for excellent durability.

•Automatic, hydraulic automatic cam chain tensioner reduces both maintenance and engine mechanical noise.

•4-valve cylinder head features 2 spark plugs per cylinder which shortens the flame diffusion time and speeds combustion for excellent torque character.

•Valve adjustment interval is 40,000 kms. •High performance direct ignition coils (ignition coil is built into the spark plug cap) reduce weight while iridium spark plugs and high-output magneto deliver increased spark energy.

•High performance, short skirt, forged aluminum pistons are light weight for fast throttle response and also reduce reciprocating mass for less mechanical vibration. Compression ratio is 11:1

•270 degree crankshaft with uneven firing order (270 & 450 degrees) is used for superior traction and throttle control. This crank design and firing order reduces the "inertial torque" providing a more linear throttle response and improved rear wheel traction. The rider feels like he / she is connected directly to the rear wheel, an important benefit when riding on loose surfaces like gravel and dirt.

•The crank uses carburized connecting rods for excellent strength and durability. Carburizing is a heat treating process that increases the carbon content on the outer surface of the rod increasing its strength and durability.

•Ceramic composite cylinder "bores" are a "liner less" design with the ceramic coating applied directly to the aluminum block to ensure uniform heat dissipation for consistent power delivery, reduced oil consumption, reduced friction and reduced weight. * Specially designed high lift intake and exhaust cams provide excellent torque and power characteristics well suited to adventure touring.

•Automatic decompression device makes starting the Super Ténéré fast and easy. The benefit is the starter motor can be made smaller and lighter since the load on it is reduced.

•Dual, front and rear gear driven balancer shafts reduce engine vibration to a minimum for great rider and passenger comfort

•Single, side mounted (LHS) radiator with specially designed ring type cooling fan keeps engine temperatures under control. The side location helps lessen the overall length of the bike.

•Dry sump lubrication system eliminates the deep design oil pan on the bottom of the engine. The oil tank is integrated inside the engine cases. This design helps increase ground clearance since there is no oil pan under the engine. It also reduces weight and centralizes mass since there is no remote oil tank or oil lines.

•Easy access spin-type oil filter and drain plug make oil changes fast and easy.

•Dual bore, 46mm throttle body fuel injection system with TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and APS (Accelerator Position Sensor). This is a "closed loop" system that utilizes oxygen sensors in both header pipes. The sensors "sniff" the spent exhaust gases and feeds info back to the ECU which in turn adjusts the fuel/air mixture for maximum power with minimum emissions. The oxygen sensor is located before the muffler, so the use of a slip-on muffler will not affect this system.

•Denso injectors utilize 12 holes and a 20 degree spray pattern for excellent fuel atomization, more complete combustion chamber filling and instant throttle response. One injector per cylinder. Fuel injection benefits include excellent fuel economy; choke-less operation, reduced emissions, and smoother running.

•Yamaha Chip Control Throttle (YCC-T) electronically controls the throttle valves for outstanding response and improved controllability at all rpms. The YCC-T is used to provide even more control of the intake air volume for a smoother torque character. Special main ECU actually features 3 internal ECUs to control ignition, fuel injection and the YCC-T. The ECU that controls the YCC-T is capable of responding to changes at a speed of 1000th of a second.

•The rider can "mechanically close" the throttles by simply closing the throttle twist grip.

•Traction control function is also part of the ABS system and works in conjunction with the YCC-T system. Utilizing front and rear wheel sensors, this system senses when the rear wheel begins to spin and modifies the ignition timing and fuel injection to reduce power and eliminate wheel spin. This traction control system features 2 operating modes; TCS1 the standard mode and TCS2 with slightly less effectiveness. The system can also be turned off for those occasions when rear wheel spin is desired.

•Yamaha D-Mode variable throttle control, also a function of the YCC-T, enables the rider to adjust the performance characteristics of the engine based on riding conditions or rider preferences. The "S mode" provides sporty engine performance while the "T mode" is well suited for touring or around town use. The D-Mode switch is located on the R.H.S. handlebar switch gear.

•Wide ratio 6-speed transmission utilizes optimized gear ratios suited for a wide variety of riding conditions. Top gear is an overdrive gear delivering reduced rpms at highway speeds for relaxed, long-distance comfort.

•Low maintenance hydraulic clutch provides a light, linear clutch feel minimizing rider hand / arm fatigue. This system requires very maintenance since there are no cables to lube or break. Fluid should be changed based on owner's manual recommendations.

•High capacity, heavy duty clutch uses 9 friction and 8 steel plates. The clutch lever offers 4 positions of adjustment to suit a variety of hand sizes.

•Low maintenance, compact shaft drive system features a hypoid gear. The benefit of the hypoid gear is that it allows the ring gear to be smaller, thereby reducing the size and weight of the housing as well. Reducing unsprung weight enhances handling.

•2 into 1 exhaust system features a honeycomb style catalyzer to reduce harmful exhaust emissions and a compact "elliptical" short design muffler. The "elliptical" design keeps the muffler thin, thereby maintaining a slim overall machine width. The muffler features a heat shield to protect the rider and passenger as well as providing a throaty exhaust note.

•Compact 600 watt (@ 5,000rpms) AC magneto provides lots of electrical power     Chassis and Suspension: •Backbone style high tensile steel frame uses the engine as a stressed member. Steel pipe is used since it offers an excellent strength - rigidity balance and more inherent softness than aluminum, for excellent rider and passenger comfort … especially on longer rides. The engine is mounted low in the frame and allows for a fuel tank designed to lower the centre of gravity too.

•Detachable rear sub frame is made of aluminum for reduced weight and good strength. This rear frame has been designed to withstand the rigors of rough adventure riding with a passenger and gear.

•Long design, low pressure cast aluminum swingarm. This casting method offers superior strength since it reduces the amount of gas / air trapped in the material … making it stronger. The long design contributes to stability and handling. The left side of the arm "houses" the drive shaft.

•Fully adjustable 43mm inverted fork. This fork has been designed to offer good compliance and stroke feeling. Adjustments include 8-way spring preload, 10-way rebound and 13-way compression damping. Front wheel travel is 190mm (7.5"). This adjustable design allows the rider to tailor suspension settings to match rider weight, load and terrain conditions.

•Adjustable link-type Monocross rear suspension system features an adjustable, shock with conveniently located integrated "knob type" spring preload adjuster (no tools are required to adjust rear spring preload). Rear shock adjustments include: 6-way spring preload and 18-way rebound damping. Rear wheel travel is 190mm (7.5").

•ABS equipped dual 310mm "wave style" floating front discs are squeezed by ultra rigid 4-piston monoblock calipers. The master cylinder features a 16mm piston. Braking performance is excellent and offers good "feedback" to the rider. There are 5 positions of adjustability for the front brake lever to suit a variety of hand sizes

•ABS equipped "wave-style" 282mm rear disc is squeezed by a single piston, slide-type rear caliper. The rear master cylinder uses a 14mm piston to deliver strong, progressive stopping power with excellent control and feel.

•The ABS or Anti Lock Braking System features Yamaha's next generation independent linear controlled system with step-less, infinitely variable hydraulic pressure adjustment. The ABS unit, the ECU and the hydraulic unit are combined into a single compact unit that allows for mass centralization. This system uses the same wheel sensors as the traction control system, further reducing weight. When the ABS system senses impending wheel lock-up, the system regulates the hydraulic pressure to the point just before the wheel or wheels lock-up. The benefit of ABS is excellent control under hard braking or when braking on wet, slippery or loose surfaces. The ABS system helps prevents wheel lock up.

•Unified Brake System is combined with the ABS system. The Unified Braking System is a system whereby when the front brake is activated; an electronic control applies some rear wheel braking force as well. The amount of rear braking force is dependent upon how hard the front brake has been applied, unit speed and the amount of load on the unit. If the rear brake is applied prior to the front brake, it cancels the unified braking system temporarily (there may be times on difficult terrain when a rider does not want the unified system to activate).

•Large capacity 23 litre fuel tank is vertically elongated to help centralize mass and lower the centre of gravity. Parts of tank are positioned low, behind the air box and the cylinders to keep weight lower in the chassis. The reserve portion is 3.9 litres.

•"Double T" type rim is used on the front wheel. There are 2 raised "rails" that the spokes attach to, allowing the use of tubeless tires and providing the optimum spoke angle for excellent strength and durability. The rear rim, since it is wider, only uses a single raised rail design. Both front and rear tires are radials. •Dual, cat-eye, projector type H7, 55 / 55 watt headlights provide a serious beam of light for extra confidence when riding after dark. A solenoid moves the shade that controls the projector headlight function.

•Touring focused rider and passenger seats The rider portion (only) offers two different seat height settings. The low position is 845mm (33.3") off the ground while the tall position is 870mm (34.3"). The passenger seat is removable.

•Multi-function plastic resin rear rack. In standard form it is a conventional rack / carrier. It also functions as a mount for the accessory 30 litre top box. And finally, there is an additional carrier built in under the passenger seat. When the passenger seat is removed, it blends with the rear rack to make a longer platform, providing maximum rack area / space.

•Based on the Super Ténéré being used for various types of riding conditions, the handlebar position and bend have been designed to be both versatile and comfortable whether the rider is standing or sitting. The handlebars are a rugged tapered design for excellent strength and durability.

•The combination rubber / steel rider footrests offer the best of two worlds. When sitting, the rider's foot is resting on the vibration damping rubber insets. When standing the rubbers compress and expose the serrated edges of the steel pegs providing additional grip for more technical riding. •Compact, multi-function, one-piece instrument features analog tachometer, digital speedometer, dual tripmeters, fuel tripmeter, fuel gauge, and clock. It also features traction control and D-mode indicators, average and instant fuel consumption readouts, coolant temperature, ABS warning light and self-diagnosis functions, plus more. Background illumination is adjustable. The button that operates the traction control system is conveniently located on the side of the instrument for easy access.

•Sculptured 2 piece ½ fairing has been design with the interaction between the rider and machine in mind. It is a "form following function" design and offers an unobstructed view, excellent air management as well as good wind and weather protection. There is a convenient 12 volt DC outlet on the fairing dash for GPS, cell phone or other uses. •Frame mounted composite tip over protectors on the left and right sides of the lower edge of the fairing offer good protection not only to the fairing but also the side mounted rad, battery and selected electrical components. •Quick release fasteners are used on the lower / mid fairings for quick access to the rad and selected electrical components.     Additional Features: •Lightweight, magnesium cylinder head and clutch covers reduce weight

•Adjustable front brake and clutch levers

•Low maintenance 11 amp hour, sealed battery

The YCC-T is used to provide even more control of the intake air volume for a smoother torque character. This ECU that controls the YCC-T is capable of responding to changes at a speed of 1000th of a second. •YCC-I or Yamaha's Chip Controlled Intake system means the intake funnels / stacks vary in length between 2 pre-set positions depending on engine rpms. The transition rpm is approximately 13,700 rpms. An electronic servo motor varies the funnels. The revolutionary YCC-I provides the best of both worlds …solid low rpm torque and power combined with an amazing high rpm rush. It takes only 0.3 of a second for the funnels to move from the tall to the short position.

•Yamaha's exclusive YCC-I electric-control servo motor-driven variable intake funnel system is a world's 1st on a production motorcycle and works in conjunction with Yamaha's fly-by-wire technology and FI systems.

•7.6 litre air box utilizes a high flow viscous paper type air filter. •Ram Air Induction System with centrally located intake duct delivers cool, high-pressure air "force-fed" into the intake tract for optimal combustion and greater horsepower at higher speeds. This design provides straight induction from the central fairing duct to the air box without a lot of bends or turns.

•Close ratio 6-speed transmission delivers seamless power delivery and maximum acceleration. Gear widths, splines and engagement dogs have been optimized to handle the R6's power. The shift drum and shifting mechanism are located on the right side of the cases for smooth shifting feel under power. The gears use flat contact-type engagement dogs for positive shifting and great durability. •The "Tri-Axis" or stacked transmission designcreates a more compact engine front to back that allows for optimum engine placement in the "sweet spot" of the frame for optimized weight distribution and incredible handling. •Slipper or back limiter clutch assembly reduces rear wheel hop when making hard down shifts or under hard braking. Key benefit is reduced lap times and smoother control when participating in either a race or track day. This clutch uses 9 paper based friction plates and 8 steel plates, plus 6 coil-type clutch springs.

•The oil lubrication system has been optimized to reduce frictional loses caused by "oil drag". It features a "two side" oil pump. There is a separate liquid-cooled oil cooler to ensure consistent engine temperatures for maximum performance and extended service life.

•High capacity cooling system features a curved radiator with dual ring-type fans for excellent engine cooling efficiency. The ring-type fan offers more airflow than a conventional type fan.

Adjustments include: 5-way spring preload, 4-way high speed compression damping, 20-way low speed compression damping and 25-way rebound damping. The inverted design not only reduces unsprung weight but also increases the rigidity of the fork. The range of adjustments allows the rider to tune suspension to match riding style and conditions.

•Upper triple clamp features a 30mm offset for precise handing and great steering feel. The lightweight aluminum clip-ons are mounted below the triple clamp.

•Fully adjustable Monocross link rear suspension utilizes a piggyback-style shock providing 120mm (4.7") of wheel travel. Shock adjustments include: 9-steps of spring preload adjustability, 4-way high speed compression damping, 20-way low speed compression damping and 18-way rebound damping adjustability. The piggy back design helps to keep the shock oil cool for more consistent damping.

•Radial mount, monoblock, 4-piston calipers squeeze large 310mm dual front discs. The radial mounting design helps to reduce caliper distortion for improved braking performance with excellent control and good lever feedback. The disc carriers are made from aluminium for reduced weight while the sinter metal pads provide incredible stopping power.

•Brembo radial pump master cylinder features a 16mm piston. The radial design allows for more powerful braking and improved lever feedback. The lever is adjustable for various hand sizes.

•Light weight 220mm rear disc brake is squeezed by a single-piston caliper

•Lightweight five-spoke 17" wheels reduce unsprung weight by making hub and spokes a single structural unit. A special casting technique makes the rim section substantially lighter and stronger. •Ultra-sleek "new edge form" bodywork features a sharp front profile with centrally located Ram Air duct, engine-revealing side cowlings and ultra-sleek tail section. There are special side fairing intake ducts to allow cool air to circulate around the engine, fuel tank and frame areas. "Minimalism" and "mass forward" movement are two words that best describe this design body. •17-litre fuel tank provides excellent rider ergonomics and an aggressive riding position. The reserve portion of the tank is 3.5 liters. The tank features a front tank cover like the R1 and an internal electric fuel pump.

•Separate rider and passenger seats. An optional rear seat cowl is available.

•Dual 55 watt H7 "cat eye" headlights. These lights not only cast a bright beam of light, but also feature a sleek profile for superb aerodynamics. •Compact race inspired multi-function digital and analog instrumentation with adjustable back lighting. Features: analog tach, digital speedometer, dual tripmeters, low fuel warning light, fuel tripmeter, and clock. There is also a programmable shift light and stop watch/lap timer that is controlled by the LHS handlebar mounted switch gear.

•Single lens LED taillight provides excellent visibility, extended service life and uses less power than conventional bulbs.

•Immobilizer ignition system is designed to reduce the possibility of "ride away" theft. This system must recognize the "coded ignition key" in order for the unit to start. If the immobilizer ignition does not recognize the key (or a theft's screwdriver or other type of "jimmy tool") the bike will not start even if the ignition is turned or forced into the on position. If the system does not recognize the correct coded ignition key, the ignition system and starter will not function.     Additional Features: •Adjustable front brake lever

•Special 525 lightweight O-ring chain is used to reduce weight

•Steering lock

•Lightweight aluminum side stand and chain adjusters

•Lightweight low maintenance sealed gel-type battery The YZF-R6 offers a significant level of power and performance. It is not intended for novice or inexperienced riders.

New 2012 HONDA FURY
REDUCED!!!! NOW $1000 OFF!!! MSRP - $13,390 SALE PRICE - $12,390 Online price is a cash outright, sale price. Trade may be accepted at a low wholesale value only!! 2012 Honda Fury (VT1300CX) Review Furious We understand perfectly if you think your eyeballs are lying to you. Indeed, the Fury® appears to be something from the farthest fringes of the two-wheeled world. Yet it's a Honda, through and through. Here we have the rolling incarnation of the pure, undiluted chopper essence, a machine that simply looks right, sounds right and goes straight to the heart of radical enthusiasts. Yet despite the extreme lines and head-turning looks, the Fury is backed up with the same fit and finish, functionality, affordability, quality and reliability built into every Honda. Who would have ever thought it possible? Honda’s radical Fury is a chopper like no other. Not only is it easily the most distinctive custom we’ve ever built, but it’s comparable to one-off custom-house choppers costing ten times as much—except that it probably works and rides twice as well. Long, lean and mean, stretching nearly six feet from axle to axle, this machine is a real head-turner. And once you settle into the saddle, turn the key and fire up that big 1312cc V-twin, you’ll know this is the bike you’ve been dreaming about. The Fury is a bike that makes you just want to stand back and stare. Oh sure, you’ll definitely want to ride it, but only after taking in its gorgeous styling, long, swooping lines, and swooped-out chopper front end. And when that time comes to throw a leg over this too-cool machine and thumb its starter, you’ll have two Fury models to choose from: our standard (if you can call anything about the Fury “standard”) stunner, or for riders wanting that added level of stopping control in less than ideal conditions, Honda also offers the optional anti-lock braking-equipped Fury ABS.   2012 Honda Fury (VT1300CX) Features and Benefits The soul of a chopper. The heart of a Honda. There’s no mistaking that the Fury is all about the way it looks, sounds and feels—and the way all these sensations make you feel when you’re riding it. But like all Hondas, the Fury is also a showcase of engineering, boasting innovative features like Programmed Fuel Injection, custom-cast wheels, specially designed shaft drive, and, of course, that monster 1312cc V-twin. Call it the perfect marriage of style and substance.   New for 2012 - New Matte Black/Red, Ultra Blue Metallic and Black colors.   Honda Genuine Accessories - Front Spoiler, Front Spoiler LED accent Lights, Low Sissy bar Upright, Passenger Backrest Pad, Boulevard Screen (smoke), Rear Fender Panel, Leather Front Pouch, Custom Rider Seat (Tribal/ Vector/Flame), Custom Passenger Seat, Fork Nut Cover, Outdoor Cover, Braided Lines (Throttle Cable/Clutch Cable/Front Brake Hose/Rear Brake Hose), Billet Clutch Cover, Billet Timing Cover, Billet Master Cylinder Cap, Billet License Plate Frame, Billet Dipstick, Chrome Allen Bolt Inserts, Fork Bolt Covers, Custom Grips, Outdoor Cycle Cover

New 2012 HONDA GL1800 w/ Roadsmith Trike
This is a brand new 2012 Honda GL1800, level one model. We build these trikes in house at Nishna Valley Cycle in Atlantic, Ia. This bike is beautiful and the orange is a factory Honda color. Options are as follows: PreLoad System, Performance sway bar, WingGuards, Side Winderz, Roadsmith 5 1/2 degree steer kit, trunk light, Wheel well trim, Draw bar, Trailer converter, Boomerang frame covers, and Chrome timing chain cover. Give us a call at 888-577-6406 for any questions. We do accept trades.

New 2012 HONDA NC700X

2012 Honda NC700XA Review Got somewhere to go? Don’t leave your bike at home. Hop on a Honda NC700XA, and rediscover the joys of motorcycling all over again. It’s a jungle out there. City traffic, gravel backroads, construction zones, inclement weather... Is there a bike that can not only tackle all this, but actually make it fun? You bet there is: the all-new Honda NC700XA. What makes the NC700XA so practical for taming the jungle – including its huge storage area where the gas tank would be on most bikes – are also the things that make it such a joy to ride, on the street, highway, gravel road, you name it. The strong low-end and midrange torque from the 670 cc twin-cylinder engine allow you navigate through the city without having to constantly shift gears, and these same characteristics produce the strong acceleration that feels so satisfying when you’re pulling away from a stop sign or pulling out onto the highway. Even the sensible, upright riding position that gives you such a great view of the road and traffic ahead in the city, adds to the NC700XA’s pleasure by feeling so relaxed and comfortable on the open road. With its long-travel suspension, extra ground clearance, standard Combined Braking System with ABS, protective windshield, and optional Honda Genuine Accessories luggage, the NC700XA can also take you far from the city and into the real jungle – or at least into the out-of-the-way place.
The NC700X crossover offers the long-travel suspension, agility and commanding riding position of an off-road bike in an overall package with high standards of stability, braking and engine performance. It promises a fun, engaging riding experience together with the practicality and ease of use that make it a machine eminently suitable for daily commuting. At the heart of the NC700X is a purpose-built engine and transmission package. The liquid-cooled, in-line 2-cylinder 670cc engine is a lightweight and compact unit with a low centre of gravity. It offers a very usable power delivery with strong levels of torque at low to medium rpm combined with low exhaust gas emissions and outstanding fuel economy (78.8mpg WMTC mode. Tested in D-Mode). On the NC700X there is the option to enjoy this new engine with the second generation of Honda's innovative Dual Clutch Transmission, offering both manual gear shifting and fully automatic functionality - a suitably advanced and versatile core for an innovative new motorcycle. The NC700X has been designed with a secure internal storage space large enough to accommodate a full-face helmet, located where you would typically find the fuel tanks. It is also offered with Honda's Combined Anti-Lock Braking System (C-ABS) as an option. It offers the practicality of a commuter with easy handling in a crossover styling. Available: Summer 2012

Honda’s new NC700X is a real breath of fresh air in today’s world of specialized motorcycles, a new concept in streetbikes, and one that puts the FUN in Functional. During the week it’s an awesome commuter. On the weekend it lets you go exploring in the country, or carve up a twisty canyon road. Light, nimble, and with an engine that offers a generous helping of useable torque, it’s all wrapped up in a package that’s big enough for longer rides, but not a handful in tight traffic or in a parking lot. And to sweeten the deal, it’s even available in two versions: one model features a conventional six-speed, manual-clutch transmission, while a second version is available with the latest generation of Honda’s exclusive automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Plus, the DCT version comes with Honda’s revolutionary Combined ABS!
